Catching Up

So, I realize that I haven't posted anything in a while.  I have had a family emergency, but nonetheless, I am back and ready to post pictures!!

This is the meter outside of my apartment.  I thought it looked very rustic and industrial, so naturally, I had to capture it. I was very upset that I couldn't get a picture of the entire thing, but there is a HUGE air vent right in front of the rest of the meter.  There is no way I could have gotten it, but still, I looks pretty darn cool :)

What else have I been doing with my time? I started a project with a wine bottle candle stick holder.  This is the unfinished project, but still looks pretty cool.  All you have to do is get a wine bottle (drink it, of course) soak the bottle in warm water, so the labels will peel right off.  After that, just take your candle sticks and plop them on there.  I encountered a problem with my candles, however. the candlestick could be much larger than the bottle.  If this happens, simply melt the bottom of the candle using a lighter of some sort.  Until the bottom of the candle feels really 'waxy'.  You should then be able to just shove the candle on to the top of the bottle.  And voila! you are on your way to having one of these very strange items in your house.  For a prettier effect, try buying multicolored candles.

Also, I made pie, Coconut Cream Pie, to be exact. When I asked my boyfriend what he wanted for his birthday, he simply said "Pie." So, pie is what I made for him.  I spent three to four hours making something that I had never made before.  I now know the complexity of pie.  We gobbled up the pie in two days. I wont be baking for a while :)  But this is what I have been doing since my last post.  I will post again soon.
